IMAGINING BETTER

remembering the past, resourcing the future

I am working with this small charity based in North Tyneside to develop an Audience Development Strategy, taking a collaborative approach which will engage and up-skill staff, trustees and volunteers.

Research _go and see_ visit in Dundee.JPG

Flourish is a partnership project delivered by Northumbria and Newcastle Universities and Gateshead Council, examining and making recommendations on the role of Local Authorities in supporting the creative industries in place-based projects. Taking a co-research approach we are working with a stakeholder group of Gateshead-based practitioners to co-create knowledge, strategies and policies that better address the needs and aspirations of the sector and those supporting it.

Evaluation Sunderland Council

We worked with Philippa on our activity plan for our national lottery funded scheme in 2023-24. She was a very positive addition to our team, an approachable ambassador to our partners and volunteers, with a proactive approach to problem solving, organised and reliable throughout. We hope to work with Philippa again in the future.

bishopwearmouth townscape heritage scheme

I worked with SCC to deliver the Activity Plan for the Bishopwearmouth Townscape Heritage Scheme (funded by NLHF). This included organising, publicising, delivering and evaluating a range of activities including walks and talks, work placements, social media campaigns, workshops and a Family Fun Day celebrating the achievements of the project.

Mowbray Park community garden

I am working with Sunderland City Council to understand and measure the impact of the community garden project using a range of quantitative and qualitative methods. This will enable effective reporting to funders and an ongoing process of reflection and review to ensure the garden is meeting the needs of users and participants.

rural churches for everyone

Working alongside Philippa during the Rural Churches for Everyone Project was a game-changer: she’s an excellent communicator, and a real collaborator. I was confident that she had anticipated all the details and that I could rely on her to think considerately about our clients’ needs and make any necessary adjustments. She was knowledgeable, reflective and skilled, and good fun to work with too. I’d welcome the chance to work with her again.

RCfE worked with 35 churches in deep rural Northumberland to develop collaborative Sustainability Plans to secure sustainable futures for church buildings. I was responsible for all elements of managing the project in order to deliver the expected outcomes and approved purposes agreed by the funder, National Lottery Heritage Fund. This included devising and delivering the programme of workshops and training for the project; supporting a diverse and disparate group of volunteers across 35 churches to participate and develop their own plans for their churches, taking a bottom-up, community development inspired approach; working with a number of community development and heritage partners to build networks and support the churches; budget and risk management; reporting to the Project Board, Steering Group and funder; and coordinating the monitoring and evaluation for the project.
